Planning Commission:  Notice of Vacancy

The City of Enterprise is currently accepting nominations for two (2) vacancies for the position of Planning Commissioner.  This is a to fill the remaining 3 years of a 5 year appointment, and a 5 year appointment.  If you or someone you know is interested, please fill out a a nomination form or contact the City Office.

The Mayor makes the appointment with the advice and consent of the City Council.

Planning Commission Meetings are usually held once a month on a Tuesday evening, and could last 1 hour or more.

The Planning Commission is a review and recommendation body for the City Council, with some limited decision making authority in the area of land use.  Some of the responsibilities of the Planning Commission are: review of subdivision requests, conditional use permit applications, business license applications, and review of the Enterprise General Plan.

This is a great opportunity for a civic minded individual to have an influence on the future growth of our community.

Enterprise, Utah is located in southwestern Utah, 40 miles north of St. George via Highway 18. The community is rural in nature and has access to wonderful outdoor activities, such as camping, hunting, fishing, hiking, and cycling. Enterprise is about 20 minutes from 4 reservoirs, including the Upper and Lower Enterprise Reservoirs.

The area is principally agricultural, with the primary crops being alfalfa (hay), corn, and potatoes. Enterprise hosts the annual Cornfest in August. Enterprise is a Public Power City, and provides power, water, sewer, garbage, fire, and EMS services to the community.
